OVERVIEW: MATUA WINES — NEW BRAND IDENTITY / PACKAGING SUITE REDESIGN

It’s hard to separate New Zealand and Sauvignon Blanc these days, but Matua was the very first to put them together, producing New Zealand’s first bottle in 1974. Matua sought to bring their brand image up to date. Drawing inspiration from and paying tribute to New Zealand’s rich indigenous culture, the new brand image features a tribal facial tattoo design, or Ta Moko, and a customized wordmark that draws its shaping from Maori art.

The rebrand just happened to be TWE’s (Treasury Wine Estates - one of the world’s largest wine companies) most successful launch in their history.
